POVERTY IS A VERY COMPLICATED ISSUE BUT FEEDING A CHILD IS NOT

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the number of undernourished people in the world has been on the rise since 2015, and is back to levels seen in 2010 and 2011.

Everyone, they say, has the same chances and opportunities, but it’s simply not true. Nutritious meals can give children the energy to be able to study and concentrate.

Food insecurity is defined as not having reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food that allows a person to remain healthy and lead an active life. Food insecurity affects about nine percent of the global population, with hundreds of millions of children experiencing hunger as a result. Thus, for such people, Manas has been running a free kitchen, HARIOM SEVA for quite some time and providing free food to all of them who are not able to arrange one full meal for them.

Manas questions the fact that why there should be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city or at any table when a man is capable to attain all resources around him and give them back in a fruitful manner that can complete all the basic necessities of life. The world around and stigma of poverty that lurks in the society proves the fact that it is not the deficit in Human Resources but deficit in human will.

Poverty is a very complicated and broad issue to solve but by beginning at a smaller level by making a strong determination to make the mantra of feeding children, the issue can be narrowed down. Feeding a child is not difficult and this carrying the belief in himself, Manas aims to do the same around his area by proving free food on important occasions and days to make the world a happy place to live in.
